Aspen Tree Mystery

I have had a grouping of Aspen trees in my front and backyard for about 5 years now and this is the first year I have ever seen them produce Aspen seeds! According to the University of Minnesota, Aspens can sometimes reproduce through seeding as opposed to root suckering. The seeds look like little fuzzy caterpillars and are very soft to the touch. It’s a little surprising at how small they are, because most trees have bigger seeds. These look more like Dandelions.
